At JointBudget, we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app. By using JointBudget, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect the following personal information directly from you when you use JointBudget:

• Last Name

You provide your consent for the collection of this personal information through an explicit checkbox at the time of registration.

1.2 Financial Information

We collect bank account details and transaction information through our integration with Plaid, a third-party service provider. Plaid handles user consent for accessing this financial information. 1.3 Optional Information

You may choose to provide a profile picture, but this is not required to use the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the functionality of JointBudget and to ensure the security of our services. We do not use your information for marketing purposes or any other secondary purposes. If in the future we need to use your information for any other purpose, we will obtain your explicit consent via email.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with any third parties, except as necessary to provide our services. Specifically:

• We use AWS Amplify to securely store your data. AWS is GDPR-compliant, and you can review their Privacy Policy here.
• We use Plaid to retrieve account and transaction information from your bank. Plaid is also GDPR-compliant, and their Privacy Policy can be reviewed here.

4. User Rights

4.1 Access and Export

You have the right to access your data directly through the JointBudget app. You can also export your data in a CSV format through the app settings.

4.2 Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings. Once deleted, your data will be removed immediately from our systems.

4.3 Data Portability

You can export your data as a CSV file at any time through the app settings. This allows you to transfer your data to another service if desired.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement the following measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS to ensure secure communication.
• Data is encrypted using AWS KMS (Key Management Service).
• We use AWS Amplify to manage backend operations securely.
• We support two-factor authentication (2FA) for email verification during sign-up. A 6-digit code is sent to your email address to verify your identity.
• The app cannot be used on devices that are jailbroken, to maintain a secure environment.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If there are significant changes, we will notify you via email. Continued use of JointBudget after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.

7. Compliance with Laws

We comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and are committed to protecting the rights of users in the European Union. All user data is stored within the EU.

8. Children’s Privacy

JointBudget is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under the age of 18, we will take steps to delete that information.
